Ourstyle Recordings - Cally & Juice - 3 The Hard Way / Kick It

No introduction is needed for the well known back to back duo Cally & Juice. Keeping one of the busiest diary's of any UK DJ, playing at all of the world's biggest events and festivals they are constantly pushing their brand of hard dance music to the ever appreciative clubber.

Ourstyle Recordings was launched in 2005 by Welsh Wizards, Cally & Juice. The boys wanted to showcase their own brand of hard dance and hardstyle, hence the name 'Ourstyle'. Since its launch they have enjoyed great success with over a dozen releases. Most of the tracks have been written by the boys themselves but they have also featured the likes of Activator, Trance Generators and Vandall to name but a few.

3 The Hard Way
'3 The Hard Way' has its feet planted firmly in the hardstyle corner of the ring and has a real knockout punch to it. The beats and bass are hammering and are typical of any big 4-to-the-floor hardstyle track. The cherry on top is the superb Beastie Boys rap vocal that flies along with it creating an amazing groove that fuels the track with energy. Many times this has been played, only to have people coming to the decks to find out what it is. No doubt this will do the damage in many DJs sets for months to come.

Kick It
'Kick It' is a more cross-over affair, blurring the lines between hard trance and hardstyle, which it does so well. With pounding beats, prominent stab sounds and an injection of breakbeats into the mix, it has enough ingredients to span 3 tunes let alone one, leaving the listener spoiled by all that goes on in the track. This has been road tested for quite some time by the boys and it's always done the damage and looks set to get picked up now by many DJs across the country.

No introduction is needed for the well known back to back duo Cally & Juice. Keeping one of the busiest diary's of any UK DJ, playing at all of the world's biggest events and festivals they are constantly pushing their brand of hard dance music to the ever appreciative clubber.

Ourstyle Recordings was launched in 2005 by Welsh Wizards, Cally & Juice. The boys wanted to showcase their own brand of hard dance and hardstyle, hence the name 'Ourstyle'. Since its launch they have enjoyed great success with over a dozen releases. Most of the tracks have been written by the boys themselves but they have also featured the likes of Activator, Trance Generators and Vandall to name but a few.

3 The Hard Way
'3 The Hard Way' has its feet planted firmly in the hardstyle corner of the ring and has a real knockout punch to it. The beats and bass are hammering and are typical of any big 4-to-the-floor hardstyle track. The cherry on top is the superb Beastie Boys rap vocal that flies along with it creating an amazing groove that fuels the track with energy. Many times this has been played, only to have people coming to the decks to find out what it is. No doubt this will do the damage in many DJs sets for months to come.

Kick It
'Kick It' is a more cross-over affair, blurring the lines between hard trance and hardstyle, which it does so well. With pounding beats, prominent stab sounds and an injection of breakbeats into the mix, it has enough ingredients to span 3 tunes let alone one, leaving the listener spoiled by all that goes on in the track. This has been road tested for quite some time by the boys and it's always done the damage and looks set to get picked up now by many DJs across the country.

Carl Nicholsons CN Recordings Back Cat Now Added!


CN Recordings was founded back in 2006 to showcase Carl Nicholsons unreleased material, since then it has featured many a big name including Ingo, Iridium, Ben Kaye, Fallout and of course Carl himself, with major support from the likes of Lisa Lashes, Rob Tissera and the Tidy Boys, CN recordings just keeps getting better and bigger.


Carl Nicholson has been involved with the harder edged dance circuits since the sprightly age of 15, initially as an MC for Hardcore outfits but then progressed onto DJ’ing in 1993 when the house music revolution loomed over the world of rock music and the kids swapped their Guitars for Technics SL2100s and bandanas for glow sticks.  During this time Carl studied his craft with a fine tooth comb and began his career as a DJ within the London underground scene as a warmup (Reclaim the Streets/Jump/Self Indulgence) which slowly but surely progressed to more main slot gigs at far more prolific parties at the time (Strawberry Sundae/Sunny Side Up,Trinity).


Since then Carl has grown to become a worldwide phenomenon within the Hard Dance/Hard Trance genres having held major residencies at Fabric(London), Matrix(Reading) and being billed alongside legends including Todd Terry, Fatboy Slim, Chemical Brothers and Judge Jules.  Carl then went on to guest at major UK promotions including Frantic, Glastonbury Festival, Miss Moneypennys, Sundissential, Wildchild, Extreme Euphoria & Heat UK, and then clocked up numerous releases on Nukleuz, Tidy Trax, Elasticman, Fevah, Species, Oblivion and Global Panic of which 6 went straight into the Top 20 of the national dance charts, and with multiple airplay on Radio 1 and have been featured on no less that 15 Compilations worldwide including the world famous Euphoria series.


2007 is without doubt looking to be a major turning point for Mr Nicholson as he reaches his 13th Anniversary as a DJ and with constant support of his material by the likes of Lisa Lashes, Tidy Boys, Rob Tissera, Dave Pearce & Technikal to name a few plus with another 10 releases scheduled in the pipeline things can only get much, much better.

No introduction is needed for the well known back to back duo Cally & Juice. Keeping one of the busiest diary's of any UK DJ, playing at all of the world's biggest events and festivals they are constantly pushing their brand of hard dance music to the ever appreciative clubber.



Ourstyle Recordings was launched in 2005 by Welsh Wizards, Cally & Juice. The boys wanted to showcase their own brand of hard dance and hardstyle, hence the name 'Ourstyle'. Since its launch they have enjoyed great success with over a dozen releases. Most of the tracks have been written by the boys themselves but they have also featured the likes of Activator, Trance Generators and Vandall to name but a few.



The Great Dictator

This idea and inspiration for this track came from its vocal, which has been sampled from the 1940 movie of the same name. Directed by and starring Charlie Chaplin, it is a satire on Nazi Germany and features this powerful and thought provoking speech, which sets the tone of the track as being very powerful and anthemic. All the sounds were chosen carefully with this in mind, and the ferocious beats and heavy bassline suit the mood of the track. The main breakdown builds as the speech increases in tone and temperament, with a filtered anthemic melody building throughout. As the speech reaches its climax, a moment later the beats kick in and the powerful lead synth takes over. Although this track is predominantly hardstyle, its big uplifting undertones should appeal to fans of other hard dance genres.



Drop the Beat

Drop the Beat is more of a crossover track, blurring the lines between hardstyle and UK hard dance. The rhythm of the track is straight up bassline hardstyle. Perfect timing as the scene moves back towards this more palatable sound. The vocals create a fantastic groove that move along with melodies and beats, creating a superb energy. Upon the main breakdown you are taken on an amazing journey through sound. At first a big anthemic string section, which soon has heavy breakbeats dropped over the top, then just when you think it's going back to the bassline, in comes a big distorted Dutch kick which follows the melody. Then when the bassline comes back in it keeps the energy right up there until the next tune gets mixed in. Once again this track should appeal to fans of most hard dance genres.

At first a big anthemic string section, which soon has heavy breakbeats dropped over the top, then just when you think it's going back to the bassline, in comes a big distorted Dutch kick which follows the melody. Then when the bassline comes back in it keeps the energy right up there until the next tune gets mixed in. Once again this track should appeal to fans of most hard dance genres.

Regarded by many of his peers as a technical genius on the wheels of steel, beatmaster Ben has become one of the most in-demand hard house DJs in Britain, with regular slots at high-profile events such as Frantic, Storm, Creamfields and the Tidy Weekenders.



Ben has enjoyed many bookings in Ireland and Europe, including arguably the best festival on the continent - Dance Valley in Amsterdam.



The Mixmag Future Hero winner has tackled tours of Australia (Adelaide, Perth & Brisbane), Canada (Edmonton, Calgary & Winnipeg) and New Zealand (Auckland and Christchurch) and the acclaimed DJ's international profile is consistently growing.



There are two superb albums which best illustrate the talented mix maestro's skills. In 2005 he effectively filled Andy Farley's shoes on the seminal I Love VC set, and from his awesome Fireball Recordings their first compilation Firebox - Volume 1. Other compilations include the Hardbox Strikes Back series from Vicious Circle and the Tidy Music Library from Tidy Trax.



Djing is just a small part of Ben's repertoire and with over 100 tracks now commercially released he is one of hard dance's leading producers.. Spending most of the week in the studio engineering music for other artists and writing his own blend of high energy dance music Ben is a one stop shop for all things hard.



Some of the UK's other leading labels have also secured his services: Tidy, Toolbox, Flashpoint & Tripoli Trax but to name a few as well as being the label manager for Vicious Circle & his own Fireball Recordings imprint Ben also runs the Toolbox Digital download site so constantly has his finger on the pulse of the hard dance scene



Ben spent much of 2007 laying the foundations for the next phase of his career - his own Fireball Recordings and by 2010 the label has become one of the biggest players with huge releases each week. Merging releases from the superstars and up and coming artists Fireball has gained an awesome reputation for quality hard dance music from across the genre.

This is the second release from New Tech Revolution Red. It is from a talented up and coming Irish producer, Leon Clarke. Leon has been causing a storm this year with his productions, and its safe to say this is his best work yet!



The remix is from NTR's main man Neal Thomas.



This track has been widely anticipated over the past few months across both the hard dance and trance scene, and for those who have not already heard it, you are in for a treat!

Hard Trance Master Steve Blake is one man is responsible for helping to mould not only what Fevah Hard Trance came to sound like, but also what UK hard trance sounds like from the beginning.

So we thought it only fit to honour the 1st release to a man that we

recognise as the 1st Master of UK Hard Trance.

All the mixes have their own virtues and that lush, haunting synth line that depicts VENOM from the start.
